Here at CTM we have tested 12 different 13 Amp Plug In kilns over the years and for their size these new Ecotop 43-13 Amp and Ecotop 60-13 Amp kilns are by far the best performing of any we have tested. So well insulated that they take forever to cool down.

If you can get an electrician fitted power supply then of course 16 amps or 23 amps is better than 13 amps.

Kilns over 150 litres can suffer from cold spots due to the depth or width or both.

Shutting off vents and exhaust holes once glaze firing and stacking work to retain heat in the bottom of the kiln can all make a large difference. Also, slowing down the firing rate for the last 100oC to 50oC/hour.

We do recommend you look at the TE-S range and the FLOOR HEATING for the larger kilns.
