These glaze powders have been specifically designed to match the contraction and expansion of porcelain clays, and the Celadon colours have been designed to give the subtle colours expected of traditional porcelain.

Some customers do use standard stoneware glazes on porcelain without problems but many do find that these give more reliable results.  Of course you can put stains into the transparent glossy glaze.                         VAT TO BE ADDED TO ALL PRICES

Generally if mixing a dipping glaze with Porcelain powders you need a consistency of single cream - sieve powder then start with a ratio of 1 powder to 0.8 liquid and then add more as required mixing well but without trapping air.  Sieve again, then leave for two hours.

If you are not dipping straight away and it is settling out then next time you can add our UGM medium 75/85% UGM to 15/25% water; or replace 12% of the water with a 2% SCMC cellulose glaze binder solution.  If creating a brush on we would recommend using the UGM.

Wipe all the salts off after bisque firing as these can reboil during the glaze firing causing glaze problems.

Many people recommend slowing down the cooling rate of the kiln for the first few hundred degrees after the soak when firing porcelain to reduce warping.
